2025-03-01 kenny It simple does not work on Edge. After going into settings changing default search engine to DuckDuckGo- nothing happened still search with Bing. So, I installed this extension; set it up, saved settings with passphrase, and tried to change all tabs opening to DDG- it still opens and searches with Bing. I turned off everything that says Bing, uninstalled Bing app from W11. Edge still does nothing but open in Bing. I used this same extension on Safari Mac with no issues. MS is simply not letting you change their blessed Bing ****.

2024-11-25 Varniit Hey DuckDuckGo Team, I am using your search and addon for years but don't know what happens when I started using same in Edge browser. Earlier, I use to install DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials addon from chrome addons store but now from edge addon store. If I enable this as default to be my search engine and homepage and new tab (like google has with their homepage on desktop) on edge browser, neither homepage nor the new tab changes, it remains default to what MSN and Bing has out of the box. On top of that, the search bar on the homepage and new tab doesn't take searches to be of DuckDuckGo but of Bing. Never had I seen this kind of issue. Either I need to uninstall this or keep using Bing or stop using "Edge on Windows" (seriously, 🤭) just like Chrome on Android. I think Microsoft is also attracting a DOJ anti-trust case like Google over forced monopolies and landlocking users. Hey DDG, now you see where your search can be used in such scenarios (your own DuckDuckGo browser 🫤)
2024-10-23 Tom Hi all. DDG support was responsive to my concerns as described in a post from Barry on 10/20/24. There is a new version of DDG Privacy Essentials and it works. Install 24.10.16 in Microsoft Edge and see it if works for you!
2024-10-23 Bernard Continuously throws errors and doesn't work. Can't configure extension, can't configure DuckDuckGo email. Useless, and unmaintained POS. 2024-10-22 Haseo Doesn't work anymore, it's all greyed out and you can't change anything in the options.
2024-10-21 bad Does not work. Edge disables the extension on installation as 'it interferes with browser' and when manually enabled, nothing functions, nothing can be enabled even email autofill fails to activate, clicking on the extension icon give blank dialogue box. Appears to be actively sabotaged by Edge? Extension works fine in all other google blink (apple webkit) browsers tested, which is pretty much all of them right now.
