User reviews

BeeLine Reader (BLR) is an exceptional addon. I subscribe to the multi-license and use it in every browser, as well as the PDF Reader. It truly helps me read faster and comprehend more. FWIW, issues mentioned by some reviewers can be resolved by settings adjustments [one exception - v. infra] There is RARE interference between BLR and esoteric addons (e.g. uMatrix; UserScripts which manipulate page elements), but this, I think, is because of how BLR parses pages in order to apply gradient effects COUPLED WITH how browsers sequentially load their components. Rephrased: rarely, addons/scripts might malfunction due to how browsers apply them *after* BLR, meaning the problem is that unadjustable loading sequence -- *not* BLR. Anyways, that's a problem on <1% of all pages. Most folks will never have such issues. If you DO have an issue, talk to the author through the website; he's very responsive. [The one exception: printing affected PDFs in 1200 DPI enables cRaZy MoDe!!1!]

Would be better if there was an option to automatically extract color from the webpage, and to use pastel tones from these colors.

This is nice for reading paragraphs of text. However, it is distracting when the color gradient is applied to headings or simple, short lines of text. Please add a configuration option that lets us configure a word or length threshold.

Extension safety

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

BeeLine Reader requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
